THE COTTAGE GARDEN DAHLIA COLLECTION
The Cottage Garden is quintessentially English, with its chocolate box cottage and picket fence, brimming with traditional country favourites. Planting is based around pastel colours to enhance the cottage garden theme which is why these dahlias are perfect planting partners. The hues of the lavender from Dahlia ‘Bluetiful’ and the soft apricot pink of Dahlia ‘Omega’, complement the other plants and style of the garden.
THE VICTORIAN GARDEN DAHLIA COLLECTION
The inspiration for the garden was to use box hedging to act as living picture frames. The idea was to divide up the space into smaller areas which were the size of an average UK garden. The ‘frames’ were then used to inspire customers to plant in their own gardens, colourful, seasonal displays, using spring and summer bulbs, such as tulips and dahlias. The vibrant, bright pink of the Dahlia ‘Wishes n Dreams’ contrasting with the creamy, light pink of Dahlia ‘Diana’s Memory’ are the perfect companions to create brilliant blocks of seasonal colour and add instant impact to the garden.
THE LAWNS DAHLIA COLLECTION
The elegant lawns are a real highlight and a great place to sit and relax at the Bridgemere Show Gardens. The lawned area, with a tapestry of magnolias and rhododendrons surrounding the formal beds of tulips and then daffodils, is at it’s very best in spring and then it turns in to a dahlia showcase in the summer. A cheerful palette of handpicked yellow dahlias, such as Dahlia ‘Sunny Boy’ and Dahlia ‘Glory of Heemstede’, have been selected to create a vibrant statement against the green backdrop.
